Community & Volunteer Co-ordinator

£24,000 per annum, pro-rated
We are recruiting a Community & Volunteer Co-ordinator to recruit, train and support adult volunteers/mentors from the local communities, to work with vulnerable young people based in our supported housing projects and the local community. This includes delivery of the Positive Placements employment programme.
The role will additionally seek to build links and financial support from local stakeholders and businesses, which will lead to greater opportunities for work experience, apprenticeships and employment for the young people that we support.
You will be responsible for managing a caseload of current volunteers, as well the recruitment and training of new volunteers. You will need to maintain monitoring systems to ensure the strategic development of the volunteering programme works towards departmental and team objectives and targets.
You must have experience of working with young people, and have an understanding of the issues and barriers which may be experienced by vulnerable young people in a supported housing setting. You will need to have experience in recruiting and supporting volunteers, and delivering training programmes. The role will involve organising, managing and prioritising your own workload with periods of minimal supervision.
