HIGH ASHURST OUTDOOR EDUCATION CENTRE

High Ashurst is a sprawling 56-acre site nestled at the heart of Surrey’s North Downs in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site itself is neighbour to two National Trust properties: Box Hill and Headley Heath, to which there is direct access from High Ashurst. The site has a colourful history with records dating back to 1706.

 

Today High Ashurst is a wonderful wide-open space for learning and self-discovery in the natural environment and we specialise in tailor made programmes in adventurous activities and environmental projects. Certification: Surrey County Council, GNAS, BOF

Accommodation Details: 
4 deluxe log cabins including one with state-of-the-art technology to host, in comfort, those with high-level mobility needs.
Adventure and other resources: 
Archery, Adventure Walk, Challenge Course, Climbing and Abseiling, High Ropes Courses, Mountain Biking, Orienteering, Team Tasks, Woodland Skills.

Catered and self-catered options available for meetings and camping. Holiday activities and courses are self-catered only.

Grand Hall and four meeting/training rooms

Camping: 
Bring your own tents or Teepee Villages - available for groups of young people (with at least two adult leaders) from Schools or other youth organisations including Duke of Edinburgh Award groups. Please note: we are an educational centre and cannot offer
Camping Facilities: 
Water, toilets, showers and washing up area. Campfires allowed (area will be allocated).
Maximum Capacity: 
80 people (including leaders)
Closed Season: 
End of October to end of Easter Holidays (Teepee’s only). Camping available all year round, excluding Christmas/New Year Period.

Fully accessible facilities and specialist accessible boats
Ages: 
All activities are for age 8 years old plus.
Adult supervision provided: 
All activities are instructor led.
Adult supervision required by letting agent: 
Yes – specific ratios/mixes for accompanying adults apply.
