7th Epsom Scout Group
INVITES APPLICANTS FOR THE VOLUNTARY POST OF
Group Scout Leader
A challenging and rewarding appointment, the Group Scout Leader is responsible for the provision of Scouting in the 7th Epsom (Methodist) Scout Group for ca. 200 young people aged 6-18 and the management of approximately 50 adults who provide them with an exciting set of activities.
7th Epsom (Methodist) Scout Group is one of the largest scout groups in the UK. The Group is financially sound and has its own purpose built Head-Quarters. Our main aim is to provide local young people (both boys and girls) with quality scouting, irrespective of faith. Our thriving and energetic group provides a fantastic range of activities ranging from canoeing, abseiling, amateur radio and climbing to the more traditional scouting skills of orienteering, camping and cooking. In the last few years the Group has also visited Uganda and Tanzania, carrying out community projects.
The objectives of the Group are to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
Previous Scouting experience is not essential, but good organisational, communication and management skills are.
This voluntary post, with appropriate expenses reimbursed, will be for an initial period of 2-5 years subject to agreement.
Be prepared … to make a difference!
