Free Help for Young Entrepreneurs

Surrey Youth Focus is offering free one day workshops to young people aged 16-24 thinking of setting up in business and the first one took place on 24th January 2013.

NEXT WORKSHOP: 11th April 2013 at Harlequin Theatre, Redhill.

The workshop was very practical with handouts, videos and a visit from a young entrepreneur who is already running two businesses. The young people are already making strides in setting out to start their new businesses – their plans range from working as a freelance make-up artist to supporting disabled young people, from creating a new smart phone App to photography.

Kate Peters who organized the workshop on behalf of Surrey Youth Focus said “I was so impressed by the young people. They all had really strong ideas – I didn’t really expect them to have got so far already”. Part of the offer is to provide young people attending the workshop with a business mentor who can provide advice and guidance afterwards. It will be exciting to see how they develop and make their way in the world of Business.

Flo, one of the young people who attended the workshop said “many thanks for the session, it was not only informative but inspiring, and now I truly believe I can make something out of my ideas”.

The workshop is especially focused on those currently unemployed or just thinking about self-employment. If you know a young person who would be interested in coming along contact Kate Peters at Surrey Youth Focus 01483-453962, or email Kate.Peters@surreyyouthfocus.org.uk
