Healthwatch Surrey Report

All young people are entitled to receive appropriate healthcare wherever they access it, and, importantly, they and their families need to be at the heart of decision-making for services.

Surrey Youth Focus as the ‘ear and voice’ of young people in Surrey were invited to research the views of young people about their health needs, priorities and experiences of the health service. The report gives an evidence based view of the 210 survey respondents, as well as a snapshot of experiences from the 15 focus group respondents. I would like to thank the young people who contributed to this research and the youth organisations that facilitated their involvement.

We hope this report will not only help to improve the experience that young people are having within the system but also form an important document for decision making and commissioning of services for significantly improving the lives of young people in Surrey.
