Coffee and Chat – Self Harm

This Coffee and Chat session will be on Tuesday 30th January, 12.00-1.30pm on Zoom, focusing on the topic of Self Harm.

Self-harm is a coping mechanism that many young people turn to in order to manage life around them. When viewed in this way, how does this change the way we approach it and support young people (and their families) we work with?

Join us as we talk openly about self-harm – what to do and where to go for support; how to have those conversations and talk about it; acknowledging and managing our own anxiety as professionals and the sense of responsibility when walking with a young person who is self-harming. With input from Emerge, Mindworks and Public Health.

Coffee and Chats are informal lunchtime sessions open to everyone working with children, young people and their families. We typically invite our charity and/or public sector colleagues to come and share their experiences in a particular area, before opening up to Q&A and discussion.
