Home-Start Surrey – Dad Matters Steering Group
Home-Start Surrey Volunteer Recruitment
Dad Matters Steering Group including Steering Group Lead
Dad Matters Surrey (a Home-Start Surrey Project) exists to support dads to have the best possible relationship with their families. We do this by providing 1:1 and group peer support, helping Dads make sense of parenthood, and providing or signposting Dads to mental health support and access to relevant services. Working closely with other professionals, we are able to better support dads in the first 1001 days of their parenting journey.
We are looking to recruit a new volunteer Dad Matters Surrey Steering Group Lead and additional Steering Group members, who, with their range of skills and experience, will help guide the direction and decision-making of Dad Matters Surrey. For the Lead role, you will need leadership skills and a good understanding of governance. For the Steering Group member roles, there is no requirement for you to have been a trustee or steering group member before, but you do need to be passionate about improving the lives of the Dads we support, along with their children and families.
You will be good at working with others, ready to speak up and ask questions, be thoughtful and open to learning, and able to stand back to see the bigger picture. You must take the responsibilities of the Steering Group and its members seriously.
Home-Start is committed to equality of opportunity and diversity, and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including those with lived experience of, or insight into, socio-economic disadvantage. We would also like to hear from people who can bring some of the following skills and expertise: Project Launch, Governance, Project Management, Bid Writing, and/or Mental Health.
We are also committed to safer recruitment practice as an
important part of safeguarding and protecting children and adults
An enhanced disclosure check will be required.
